R.R. House
The renovation of a post-war building in Loreto is given a new lease of life with new technological solutions, while preserving the spirit of the place.
The building fits into the hilly landscape with a local sandstone cladding at the base and ivory plaster on the upper floor.
The theme of light and the relationship with the surrounding countryside is paramount. The southeast facade is screened by sliding steel and wood panels to block solar radiation, while at the rear a pergola connects the house to the pool.
The use of a hybrid steel and masonry structure allowed the floors to be moved, mezzanines to be added, and the cellar to be converted into a living area.
